Title
Post-Medieval or Modern Toy Fish
Description
English: Lead alloy Toy Fish. Flat casting representing a fish with a large head, tapering body and a partially surviving tail of two flukes. Conventionalised detailing, which was probably stamped, is identical on both sides and comprises a diagonally cabled border, a round eye and prominent lips, and crescentic scales modelled in about fourteen vertical rows. The object is now gently curved along its length. Possibly a novelty from a cracker, or a piece from a children's game. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1850-1950.

Length: 50.2mm, Width: 19.2mm, Thickness: 1.4mm, Weight: 4.59gms.
