Title
Post-Medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of post-Medieval date.

A central axis bar with protruding knops separates the two sides of the frame, one of which is 'D-shaped', the other being trapezoidal. The majority of the frame is of triangular section, the exception being the axis bar, which is of semicircular section. The surfaces have been tinned or silvered.

Length: 24.9mm; width: 18.1mm; thickness: 2.2mm; weight: 1.89g.

A similar buckle is illustrated by Ross Whitehead, who suggests a late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (1996: 91, no. 564).
