Title
Post-Medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of suggested late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (Whitehead 1996: 91).

One side of the frame is roughly rectangular, the vertical outer side having a longitudinal central groove and a bulge at the centre of its outer edge. The other half of the frame is 'D-shaped', the width expanding at the centre of the outer side, where there is an internal swelling. The central axis bar is of oval section. The corroded surfaces retain traces of a white-metal coating. The buckle measures 22.1mm long, 16.2mm wide and 1.4mm thick. The weight is 1.5g.
