Post-Medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of suggested late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (Whitehead 1996: 91).

One half of the frame is trapezoidal, the sides converging towards the central axis bar. The other half is 'D-shaped' and has a wider pin rest at its centre. The upper surfaces slope downards and outwards and have been tinned or silvered. At the centre of the straight vertical end is an incised transverse groove. The buckle measures 21.5mm long, 16.5mm wide and 2.2mm thick. The weight is 2.42g.
