Title |
Post-Medieval cannon ball |
||
Description |
English: A cast-iron ball, probably a cannon ball of Post-Medieval date, 16th-17th centuries.
The ball is spherical with a general corrosion across its entire surface, with one portion of the surface bearing a thicker, sub-conical accumulation of corrosion. It is 1.25lbs in (imperial) weight. Another possible function is as a grinding ball for industrial activity, which would most likely date to the 19th century. |
