Post-Medieval Nuremberg 'French type' jetton
Description
English: A copper-alloy Nuremberg 'French type' jetton, dated 1668 (Feuardant no. 12599 - see Mitchiner 1988: 495).

The obverse image is a depiction of Louis XIV of France, facing right. The legend reads 'LVDXIIII D G [FR] ET NAV REX. The reverse shows Justice seated left and has the legend 'ARTE MEA BIS IVSTVS'. The date 'MDCLXVIII' is in the exergue. The surfaces of the jetton are worn. It measures 24.5mm in diameter, 1.1mm thick and weighs 4.24g.
