Post-Medieval Coin: Rose Farthing of Charles I
Description
English: A complete and worn post-Medieval copper-alloy rose farthing of Charles I (1625-1649). Initial marks: illegible. Rose Type 1, 1636-1644. Tower mint (North 1991: 165, refs: 2287-2289).

Obverse: [CAROLVS D G MAG BRIT]; Double arched crown with sceptres in saltire through it.

Reverse: [FRAN ET HIB REX]; Double rose surmounted by a double arched crown.

Diameter: 13.0mm. Weight: 0.62g. DA=12:6.
