Post-Medieval Coin: Halfgroat of Henry VIII
Description
English: An incomplete and worn post-Medieval silver halfgroat of Henry VIII (1509-1547), minted by Archbishop Thomas Wolsey at York between 1526-30. Mintmarks: cross voided/cross voided (North 1991: 112, ref: 1805).

Obverse: hENRIC VIII [D G] R AGL Z F; Crowned portrait of Henry VIII right.

Reverse: CIVI/TAS/EBO/RACI; Long cross fourchée over royal shield with TW beside shield and hat below.

Diameter: 18.7mm. Weight: 0.94g. DA=12:9.
