Description
English: Copper alloy

Bodkin. Cast strip with a pinched end and loop with aperture of diameter 1.5mm at one end - this aperture is now blocked, possibly as a result of recent treatment. This loop is adjacent to a longitudinal slot of length 14mm, and width 1mm, with an expansion to 2mm at either end of the slot. The other end is lost, and the object is now bent. Teresa Gilmore kindly corrects a speculative identification of the object by this reporteras a balance arm, commenting that the small concave pan at one end is probably an ear scoop.
