Bought from an eBay seller in Winsen, Germany.

Art Nouveau reverse.

At the turn of the 19th century, Wilhelm Stein operated <a href="http://www.photospuren.de/ph_stein.htm" rel="noreferrer nofollow">a Photographische Abteilung</a> [photographic department] within his <a href="File:BPK00337-Warenhaus_Wilhelm_Stein,_Chausseestraße_66.jpg" rel="noreferrer nofollow">three-storey Warenhaus</a> [department store] at Chausseestraße 66. His merchandise included <a href="https://books.google.com.au/books?id=j0iVptBrgqoC&lpg=PA57&ots=SrZRiO8M5x&dq=wilhelm stein berlin 1900s&pg=PA57#v=onepage&q=wilhelm stein berlin 1900s&f=false" rel="noreferrer nofollow">toy soldiers for 23 pfennig and toy trains for 95 pfennig</a>. In 1903 he expanded through <a href="http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.veikkos-archiv.com/index.php?title=Chausseestra%c3%9fe_70-71_(Berlin)&prev=search" rel="noreferrer nofollow">the acquisition of no. 65</a>. The department store's photographic department was later <a href="http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Stein_(Berlin)/Fotostudio" rel="noreferrer nofollow">re-branded Atelier [ie. Studio] Stein</a>. Some of the street numbers of Chausseestraße changed in about 1908, <a href="http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.veikkos-archiv.com/index.php?title=Chausseestra%c3%9fe_70-71_(Berlin)&prev=search" rel="noreferrer nofollow">nos. 65/66 becoming 70/71</a>. Wilhelm Stein was acquired by the department store empire of <a href="https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=search&rurl=translate.google.com.au&sl=de&u=https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hertie_Waren-_und_Kaufhaus&usg=ALkJrhi-HpbRrfFcPZHEC25-voJEEiWD7A" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Hermann Tietz</a> [Hertie] in 1928.
