彭瑞麟在Apollo寫場替「越南復國同盟會」的陳希聖拍攝個人肖像。1939年底時，越南革命組織「越南復國同盟會」的領袖彊柢從日本到台灣開設廣播電台，陳希聖也曾在期間一同到台灣。

陳希聖（Trần Hy Thánh），出生於越南南部永隆省（Vĩnh Long）的三平縣（Tam Bình），一般為人所知的名字為陳福安（Trần Phúc An、Trần Văn An），日本通名為柴田喜雄（Shibata Yoshio）。
陳希聖年輕時受到當時「東遊運動」（Phong trào Đông Du）的影響，同大批有志青年前往日本留學，故其會說一口流利的日語。在日期間，他加入了日本軍隊，被升至將軍，並且受到在日本從事越南獨立運動的越南皇族彊柢的照顧。據楊碧川在《胡志明》中所述，陳希聖曾念過廣東軍校，亦即黃埔軍校，尚待考證。
陳希聖是1939年成立於上海的革命組織「越南復國同盟會」（Việt Nam Phục quốc Đồng minh Hội）的核心人物，在當中擔任主席、發言人以及外交專員。該組織的領導者為彊柢，奉行三民主義和君主立憲制度，受到日本陸軍的支持。
1940年，法國在貝當的率領下，正式向納粹德國投降，成立親近軸心國的「維琪政府」。而正在與中華民國開戰的軸心國一員日本，便開始脅迫法屬印度支那（即法國在東南亞地區的殖民政府）允許日軍進駐越南北部，試圖切斷法國援助中國的路線。
同時，越南復國同盟會獲得日本的支持，組織了一支擁有三千名官兵的越南復國軍，由司令陳中立（Trần Trung Lập）領導進入越南北部，打算在日軍向越南法軍陣地進攻時，以積極配合日本人作戰方式，爭取越南戰後獨立。陳希聖則是負責集結革命人士從河內到越南南部，據說，當時陳希聖都是穿著日本軍服以喬裝日本軍官的方式矇騙過法國殖民政府。
不過，由於後來日法達成協議，日本不只同意法屬印度支那聯邦繼續統治越南、柬埔寨還有寮國，而且還掉轉槍口，協助法軍壓制越南復國軍。當日軍警告越南復國軍撤軍後，人在河內的陳希聖急忙與中井增太郎趕到諒山告知軍隊，但最後只有副司令黃良同意撤軍，司令陳中立則堅持原本的計劃進攻，後於1940年12月26日遭法軍逮捕並處決。
根據Trần Mỹ Vân教授書中所述，越南復國軍戰敗後，多數革命成員都遭到追捕，陳希聖成功地搭飛機逃到廣州，是其中少數僥倖逃走的革命成員。陳希聖到廣州後，曾試圖引渡另一名革命志士阮祥三（Nguyễn Tường Tam）到廣東，但是被法國殖民政府阻撓。Văn Đào Hoàng則在書中寫道陳希聖是跟著日軍一起從諒山撤退到河內，然後遭阮祥三下令而死。
從彭瑞麟保存的相片可以得知陳希聖曾到過台灣，應該就是彊柢在台灣的那段期間（1939-1941）。據彭瑞麟的「東京寫專」相簿，陳希聖是在1943年於廣州市橫死。
