English: Lucinda F. (Kinkead) Lyon (1849-1932) came to Seattle with her husband, Colonel George G Lyon (1841-1902), who was a member of Territorial Governor Watson C. Squire's staff from 1884-1887. A wealthy and prominent leader of society, Lucy was a founding trustee of the Seattle Historical Society (SHS) in 1914. This portrait of Lucy was taken in Seattle when she was about 50 years old. Handwritten on verso: Mrs. G. G.
