A portrait of Helen Beatty Henderson (September 6, 1880-January 20, 1949) and Volinda Lucy Henderson (May 7, 1883-January 20, 1957). They were the daughters of Charles G. Henderson (April 7, 1856-January 14, 1920) and Ellen "Nellie" Beatty Henderson (March 12, 1856-October 2, 1929). Helen was a graduate of Smith College. Helen had three sons with George Stabler Butler (February 25, 1873-December 26, 1954) - John Henderson Butler (June 22, 1904-December 16, 1985), George Chapman Butler (November 24, 1907-July 30, 1990) and Roger Beatty Butler (December 5, 1912-December 24, 1964). She divorced Butler in 1923 and married Porter Winner Sullivan (September 29, 1873-January 10, 1950) in 1927. Volinda graduated from Vassar College in 1904 and married James Kelly Parsons (February 11, 1877-November 6, 1960) on July 23 of that year. James was in the US Army and they were stationed around the world and the United States, eventually settling in the Washington, D.C. area. They are both buried at Arlington National Cemetery. |
