English: Portrait of Maximilian III Joseph, Elector of Bavaria (1727-1777), misidentified with Charles Theodore, Elector of Bavaria (1724-1799).
Deutsch: "Jeweils Öl auf Leinwand und Keilrahmen sowie unsigniert. Der Kurfürst in Harnisch und mit Hermelin, am Hals der Orden vom Goldenen Vlies, an der Brust der Hausritterorden vom Heiligen Hubertus, in der Rechten sein Szepter, davor der Kurhut. Die Kurfürstin in hellblauem, goldbesticktem Kleid mit Diadem in den Haaren, umgehängt die Schärpe mit Kleinod des russischen St. Katharinen-Ordens, die linke Hand auf den Kurhut gelegt, daneben eine weitere Krone. Bildmaße je 74 x 46 cm. In identischen schwarzen Holzrahmen, Maße je 85,5 x 58,5 cm. Jugendlich idealisierte Darstellungen des Kurfürstenpaares, wohl aus dem 19. Jhdt. Das Tragen des ihm 1778 verliehenen Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies weist jedoch darauf hin, dass Karl Theodor bereits als Kurfürst von Bayern (ab 1777) dargestellt ist." |
