Français : Portrait d'Athanase Legros (1784-1846), vers 1835, par Pierre Duval Le Camus Né à Blois en 1790, Athanase Legros, âgé d’une quarantaine d’années, fixe ici le spectateur dans sa propriété du Loir-et-Cher. Fièrement accoudé à un guéridon garni d’un chapeau, d’un tissu et d’un ouvrage, le modèle pose, les jambes écartées et la main droite fermée sur le haut de sa jambe. Derrière lui, on aperçoit un parc et au loin le clocher d’une église. Ayant déjà reçu la Légion d’honneur en 1831, Athanase fut élu maire de l’ancien IVe arrondissement de Paris (3) de 1834 à 1839 (4), et membre du conseil général de la Seine.
