[edit]DescriptionPortrait of Abd al-Rahim.jpg |
English: Portrait of Abd al-Rahim, c.1610-20.
Abd al-Rahim Khan-i Khanan (1556-1627) was the son of Persian noble Bayram Khan (see folio 8) and became one of Akbar's chief officers. In 1605-6, he aided Prince Khusraw in his rebellion against Jahangir and was not pardoned until 1610. In this portrait he is depicted in leaning on a black and gold staff. His dark orange jama has a yellow trim and is paired with bright blue pyjama with gold embroidery. Across his shoulders is draped a double-sided green and yellow pashmina shawl and he wears a embroidered gold turban. |
