The other illustration, The Day Dreamer, represents amood suggested by a sentence or two spoken at the criticaltime. It could not be duplicated by a professional with thesame subject, simply because I had studied the child, posed herin her bedroom, and got her interested in a familiar view outthe window. Yet she was aware that her picture was aboutto be taken. Some subjects are not so good as others, but any subjectcan be made good by artistic and natural treatment, and Imaintain that, as a rule, the latter can be best obtained underhome surroundings, even though it means bringing the pro-fessional into the home.
