watercolor on , half length portrait of Harry Dorsey Gough Carroll Sargent of Baltimore, Maryland (1841-1915), presented under glass with gilt mat and carved gilt and wood fame, sitter identified with paper label to the verso, "Harry Dorsey Gough Carroll Sargent / (Alphabet Sargent) / by Saunders / property of Carroll Van Ness," verso also with affixed paper label "Bendann's Fine Art Rooms / 105 East Baltimore St."
