Summary

English: Portland House Guest House, Whitchurch Next to the Crown Hotel. The house dates, in parts, back to the 17th century and was converted from private dwelling to guest house in the 1970s. In the 19th century it was used as the doctors' quarters for Whitchurch Hospital and asylum, and in the Edwardian era it was an academy for young gentlemen.
