| Description |
Français : Dernière porte sur les quatre subsistant de la vieille place forte et du château d'Ainay, ancienne châtellenie du Bourbonnais. Elle tient son appellation de l'horloge installée à l'époque moderne. Les portes étaient situées sur des fossés bordant l'enceinte fortifiée. Elles avaient ponts-levis et herses, et étaient chacune flanquées de tours pour en défendre les abords. Les deux tours de la porte de l'Horloge ont été rehaussées et couvertes d'un toit au centre duquel s'élève un campanile. Elle conserve des traces de herse et de meurtrières, vestiges du 15e siècle. A une époque, l'une des deux tours servait de prison. Un nouveau mécanisme est installé pour l'horloge en 1867. |
