Estas esculturas são atribuídas a uma tribo céltica, a dos Vetões, e terão sido esculpidas entre os séc. IV e I a.C. As suas formas são frequentemente pouco definidas, tanto por inabilidade do escultor, como pela antiguidade das esculturas, e há uma certa dificuldade, muitas vezes, em identificar o animal representado, que tanto pode ser um porco, como um urso ou um touro, por exemplo. Na aldeia histórica de Castelo Mendo, pertencente ao concelho de Almeida e que fica entre a Guarda e Vilar Formoso, há um berrão de cada lado da porta existente nas muralhas da povoação; estes dois berrões não têm cabeças, que lhes foram tiradas porque o gado se sentia intimidado por eles e não entrava pela porta! <a href="http://amateriadotempo.blogspot.com/2007/06/os-berres.html" rel="nofollow">amateriadotempo.blogspot.com/2007/06/os-berres.html</a> <a href="http://loc.alize.us/#/flickr:4796171126" rel="nofollow">See where this picture was taken.</a> <a href="https://www.flickr.com/groups/geotagging/discuss/72157594165549916/">[?]</a> |
