Compared with so-calledwater-shoes or skis already on themarket it difTers in the method ofpropulsion. Unlike forms introducedin the past, the present shoes, whichare canvas pontoons, are provided withtwo sets of cross arms or axles to whichpaddles are fitted at their extremities. It will be noted in the illustration thatthe iiaddle is fastened to one pontoonby means of an eccentric axle, ami tothe other pontoon by another eccentric The mechanism of the water-shoe, showing themounting of the paddle wheel on the pontoons axle.
