ENTRANCE TO GANESHA PARK, POMONA, CALIFORNIA too often overlooked. It is obvious thata cast iron lamp post of ornate designis quite out of harmony in such sur-roundings. A good example of correctusage is found in the park in Pomona,Calif., where the cobblestone-and-ce-ment construction of the lighting stand-ards at the entrance harmonizes per-fectly with the rustic bridge which theyflank. Each is surmounted by a wroughtiron, four light electrolier. In another portion of the same park,the arrangement is more formal, andhere the electroliers are of a differenttype, also in harmony with their sur-roundings. In this case a simple con-crete shaft of clean-cut, graceful linesrises from a square base and is sur-mounted by a glass shade above a singleincandescent bulb. A curved metalbracket suspends the light directly abovethe center of the shaft.
