At one sidewill be seen the powerful arc lampwith its regulating mech-anism, which is hereremoved from its posi-tion inside the lenses.It is naturally a difficultmatter to rotate sucha heavy body as theplatform with the lenses.Here it is mounted on aset of rollers so as toturn around, but in othercases the problem is Lantern of the Hantsholm Lightin Denmark in which the Lamp isan Electric Arc POPULAR ELECTRICITY and the WORLDS ADVANCE 1241 solved by using a ring shaped floatunder the table and this is made tofloat in a circular mercury trough so thatthe mercury takes all the weight of thetable and allows it to turn with verylittle friction.
