Summary
[edit]DescriptionPoppleton Scarecrow Trail 9 September 2023 (5a).JPG | An exhibit at the 2023 Poppleton scarecrow trail, the seventh annual weekend festival in the villages of Upper Poppleton and Nether Poppleton, near York, North Yorkshire, England. Villagers are invited to create a scarecrow or other figure inspired by a theme, this year's theme being mainly characters from children's stories and films, with a few other representations. They are non-commercial artworks, made to the villagers' own designs, and displayed in front of houses in the village. The scarecrow trail attracts tourists, who pay a small sum for the trail guide in aid of Poppleton Community Centre. The exhibits are dismantled soon after the festival. This exhibit is titled Book character, and features the Hungry Caterpillar. | ||
