| Description |
English: This Italianate-style building is the last surviving commercial building on this block of Poplar Street, which historic aerials show was lined with building like this one as late as the 1970s. The building features a painted brick exterior, low slope rear shed roof with a stepped parapet on the sides and a parapet with a pressed metal bracketed cornice on the side, decorative window headers, brick pilasters, and brick corbeling on the front facade, stone sills, rusticated stone pilasters and a pressed metal cornice above the bays on the first floor of the front facade, which have been infilled to allow the building’s first floor retail spaces to be converted into apartments, and a painted rusticated stone base. The building, originally having commercial retail storefronts on the first floor, has been entirely converted into an apartment building. |
