Puente construido en la bocana de la Ría de Betanzos, entre los años 1939 y 1942, por el prestigioso ingeniero Eduardo Torroja. El empleo de hormigón armado supuso una gran novedad en su momento, pues era la primera vez que se utilizaba este material por estas tierras para una obra de semejantes dimensiones. Lo más característico de este puente es un gran arco central que le confiere a la par delicadeza y majestuosidad. Desde el puente se contemplan espectaculares panorámicas de la ría; particularmente singulares son las nocturnas. <a href="//www.turgalicia.es/sit/ficha_datos.asp?ctre=122&crec=19549&cidi=E">turgalicia</a>

Se trata del ingeniero Eduardo Torroja Miret, considerado según se lee en la wikipedia el máximo especialista mundial en su época en construcciones de hormigón. Su hijo José Antonio Torroja Cavanillas, también destacado ingeniero (Premio Nacional de Ingeniería Civil en 2007), es el padre de Ana Torroja (Mecano).
