Description Pontchartrain Beach and Amusement Park, New Orleans, LA. Photopostcard without date. In foreground is the a section of Lake Pontchartrain with swimers and a small rowboat. In back of that is the beach, and in back of that the amusement park, with roller coaster and other rides visible, as well as old Milneberg Lighthouse to the back right of the image. Text on back of card: "PONTCHARTRAIN LAKE, a salt water body located at the northern end of New Orleans. Only a short distance from the heart of the city, the beach is used by thousands in search of bathing, fishing, yachting, rowing and other forms of amusement."
Date Not dated. c. late 1930 to 1950s; I would guess the first half of that range.
