Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Series of sinkers on fishing line hung on piles and abandoned (near a bridge on the Deûle River (near the center of Lille, in the north of France). As the ball shot, this type of lead is a source of pollution if it degrades in the water or bird poisoning if ingested by birds. The white color of the pellets is due to oxidation. As indicated by the thick algae matrix surrounding the wire, this lead has been there for several months or years. This lead meets French and European definitions of "toxic waste".
