Summary
[edit]DescriptionPolish Scouts Hall at Penrhos - geograph.org.uk - 647022.jpg |
English: Polish Scouts Hall at Penrhos. Poles in exile formed Scout Units wherever they settled. There were even units in German labour and concentration camps as well as in Soviet Gulags. In the west, after WWII and up to the 1990s, the only Polish Scouting movement recognised by the Scouting groups in Western countries was that outside Poland.
The building is now also used by the Pwllheli and Penllyn 603 unit of the Sea Cadet Corps, thus preserving the village's proud association with the British armed services. |
