1. Equatorial Type (green) with high rainfall throughout a year, two peaks of wet season and vague dry period in between. 2. Monsoonal Type (yellow) with two distinct seasons, wet from November to April during the northwest monsoon and dry from May to October during the southeast monsoon. Maximum rain period from December to February and the driest period from June to September. 3. Local Type (red) with two seasons but differ from the monsoonal type because the maximum rain period occurs in the opposite time i.e. from June to August during the southeast monsoon and less pronounced dry season between November and March.

4. Local Type (orange) with low rainfall evenly throughout a year and unreliable wet period.

Tipe Monsunal (kuning) yang memiliki dua perbedaan musim yang jelas, yakni penghujan pada periode November hingga April ketika angin monsun Asia (baratan) berlangsung dan kemarau pada periode Mei hingga Oktober ketika angin monsun Australia (timuran) terjadi. Puncak musim penghujan biasa terjadi antara Desember hingga Februari dan puncak musim kemarau biasa berlangsung antara Juni hingga September. 3. Tipe Lokal (merah) yang memiliki dua musim, tetapi berkebalikan dengan tipe monsunal, yakni musim penghujan terjadi pada periode Mei hingga Oktober ketika angin monsun Australia (timuran) berlangsung dan musim kemarau terjadi pada periode November hingga April.

4. Tipe Lokal (oranye) yang hanya punya satu musim, yakni musim kemarau karena curah hujan yang cenderung rendah sepanjang tahun.
