| Description |
Tian Tan Buddha (天壇大佛), the largest sitting Buddha in the world. The pedestal is a 268-step climb from the monastery. It is shaped similar to the altar at Beijing's Temple of Heaven, hence the name (Tiantan, or Temple of Heaven). The interior has three stories, plus access into the Buddha itself. However, a meal ticket is required for all sections other than the lowermost floor. I am sticking to the open portions. |
