| Description |
English: Cavitation and fingering in viscous fluid under (PDMS with viscosity 1000 Pa.s) traction between two rigid plates. The cavities are disconnected from the outside and have a low pressure. At one point, a few air fingers suddenly reach cavities and fill them with air. Fresh air then jumps from cavity to cavity until all cavities are filled with air. A few liquid walls between cavities have been pierced by air in the process.
Français : Cavitation et digitation dans un fluide visqueux (PDMS de viscosité 1000 Pa.s) sous traction entre deux plaques rigides. Les cavités sont déconnectées de l'extérieur et ont une pression faible. À un moment donné, quelques doigts d'air atteignent soudainement les cavités et les emplissent d'air. De l'air frais saute ainsi de cavité en cavité jusqu'à ce que toutes les cavités soient remplies d'air. Quelques parois liquides ont été percées par l'air au cours de ce processus. |
