he most interestinggeysers seen during the afternoon trip was Fountain Geyser, ExcelsiorGeyser, Mammouth Paint Pots, Morning Glory Pool, Punch Bowl, River-side Geyser, the only one that plays the tune over the river, and inour honor played as we were crossing the bridge over the Firehole River.Camped over night at Old Faithful, where we had our first experiencesleeping in tents; also had the honor of being the first tourists occupyingthese tents during the season. In fact, we arrived before some of thetents were ready, and an excellent opportunity was given to many of ournoted Chicago contractors to complete the sleeping tents, or at leastput them in condition where they could be occupied for the night andavoid the danger of having our friends the bears walk in on us withoutknocking. But in spite of these little inconveniences, the YellowstonePark menu and a drizzling rain, everybody was in high spirit and allformalities were cast aside, as this was the beginning of our four days (13)

Our tents were located in front of the Old FaithfulGeyser, which is the most wonderful of all the geysers and is calledthe Old Faithful Geyser from the fact that it plays regular every sixty-five minutes. Many of our party visited the Old Faithful Inn, which isa very unique and beautiful hotel constructed of logs and having fourimmense fireplaces in the lobby with the logs burning, which made itlook cozy and homelike. The curio shops were visited, of course, andmany valuable souvenirs were purchased. Among the many signs placedin front of the tents, one large sign was noticed bearing the name ofsome Dr. John A. Christens
