El monumento se refiere al héroe nacional llamado José Grabriel Condorcanki, mas conocido como TUPAC AMARU II, Este revolucionario, puso en jaque al poderoso ejército realista en la época del virreynato. En esta plaza se reunen la población toda, para las grandes celebraciones.
