Summary

[edit]
Description

Playing in the ruins of the old Presbyterian cemetery, Georgetown, 1903. The site, bounded by 33rd, 34th, Q St. and Volta Pl., is now the Georgetown Recreation Center. Geotagged.

The 4/19/03 "Washington Times" reported, "Noisy urchins ... have broken down the tombstones ... some of them, apparently with the artistic instincts of the savage, have scrawled rude skulls and cross-bones upon the monuments and have lettered in black paint filthy legends that see humorous to vicious minds."
