Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Platelayers Heaven Nothing winding about this long (iron)road. The former East Lincs railway used to be listed as the longest section of straight track in Great Britain. It lost the crown to a section near Gilberdyke, Yorks in the early 1970's when it was truncated at Firsby. There are 14 miles still in use and the two aspect colour light signal can be observed from Red Cap Lane level crossing almost 9 miles to the south west on clear dark night.
