Description
English: Account of an insurrection of the negro slaves in the colony of Demerara, which broke out on the 18th of August, 1823. (Execution of rebels on the parade ground in Cummingsburgh) Large open space or parade ground with soldiers standing in formation. In the center of the formation is a gallows with men hanging from it. Includes men on horseback, view of dwellings in the settlement, and ships' masts.
