Description
Français : Louvre - Salle 185 de l'art de l'Islam - vitrine 25A - Plaque-matrice - 19e siècle - Inde - Alliage cuivreux, décor gravé - Inventaire : MAO 905.


Cette plaque gravée à l’envers contient, sous la forme d’un diagramme de fleur, une chaîne « généalogique » de la confrérie mystique Chishti, fondée au 10e siècle en Afghanistan. Les noms dans la fleur présentent la succession de la confrérie Chshti depuis Muhammad et Ali : la chaîne débute ici avec le Prophète Muhammad et ‘Ali, pour se terminer au centre avec la grande figure de Mu‘in al-Din Shishti qui développa la confrérie en Inde au 13e siècle. Son tombeau à Ajmer est toujours un important lieu de pèlerinage (copie de http://cartelfr.louvre.fr/cartelfr/visite?srv=car_not_frame&idNotice=33537).
