Summary
[edit]DescriptionPlaque commemorating the opening of the Semington Aqueduct on the Kennet and Avon Canal - geograph.org.uk - 180582.jpg |
English: Plaque commemorating the opening of the Semington Aqueduct on the Kennet & Avon Canal. This aqueduct is reported to be the first navigable aqueduct to be built in the south west for almost 200 years and is built from concrete and containing 529 tonnes of steel reinforcement. It is part of the £12m Semington bypass project carrying the A350 around Semington and avoiding a narrow hump bridge over the canal further to the west - a hazard for long vehicles. |
