THESE ALMSHOUSES WHICH WERE FOUNDED BY LADY LUMLEY IN 1656, HAVE BEEN FURTHER ENDOWED BY GERALD WOFFINDEN HASSELL-MAW, M.R.C.S IN MEMORY OF HIS ANCESTORS RALPH HASSELL, M.A.OF EMMANUEL COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE, AND OF THIS PARISH OB.1656, AND WILLIAM MAW, ALSO OF THIS PARISH OB.1697 |
