English: Plaque, Beacon Hill, Torquay. The plaque, commemorating a visit by King George VI and Princess Elizabeth in May 1942 to review RAF units, is on the wall below the triangular site between Parkhill Road and Beacon Hill as they meet. One aspect of the contemporary view from the site is at 1197707. Not far below is another, more tangible reminder of World War II - see 821336 and 254350. |
