Description
Português: Planta da cidade e das defesas de Lagos, em Portugal, produzida pelo engenheiro militar napolitano Alessandro Massai nos princípios do século XVII.

As letras Q, P, R, O e N representam as cinco portas da cidade, e as letras L, A, D, E, B, E, G, C, H, I e T e os números 2, 3 e 4 assinalam os baluartes. A estrutura com a letra S é um molhe que o autor propôs, e a letra V refere-se ao Cais da Ribeira (Cais velho). A letra M é uma praça baixa para artilharia e o acesso ao baluarte L, e a letra X corresponde à porta do Postiguo do Canno. As letras S e T são um paredão proposto pelo autor para regularizar a margem do rio, de forma a construir um novo caneiro para abastecimento de água à cidade, substituindo o antigo, representando pelos números 6 e 7, que estava obsoleto.

English: Plan of the city and defenses of Lagos, in southern Portugal. It was made by the neapolitan military engineer Alessandro Massai in the early XVII century.

The letters Q, P, R, O and N are the five doors of the city, and the letters L, A, D, E, B, E, G, C, H, I and T and the numbers 2, 3 e 4 are the towers. The S letter is a jetty the author has proposed, and the V is the Ribeira pier, also known as the old pier. The structure indicated by M was used by artillery and served as access to the L tower, and the X is the Postiguo do Canno door. The letters S and T represent a breakwater proposed by the author, in order to build a new freshwater canal to Lagos, replacing the old one (numbers 6 and 7), that was obsolete.
