Summary

[edit]
Description
English: WALLS. SECOND WALLED ENCLOSURE

XIII-XIV Century

The second walled enclosure was born from the need to expand the site of the city to the east and integrate within the wall the suburbs grouped in the path of Toro. This enclosure consisted of towers or cubes of circular, square and polygonal plan. The tradition and local place names lead us to believe that, in order to reinforce this area, the citadel was also built in the vicinity of the current Plaza Mayor.

It consisted of seven doors that have disappeared although isolated canvases of the walled perimeter are conserved. This loss is due to the major deterioration and enchanches suffered by Zamora at the beginning of the 19th century and during the 20th century.
Español: MURALLAS. SEGUNDO RECINTO AMURALLADO

Siglo XIII-XIV
