На карте отмечена береговая линия, береговые ориентиры, указания глубин, якорные стоянки, поселение и художественное изображение корабля. Карта ориентирована на восток. Из примечания следует, что Кейптаун был населен голландцами, и что эта карта является копией с оригинала, составленного в 1765 году фрегатом Британской Ост-Индской компании, командование которого позволило снять копию с карты в порту Маврикия. Région du Cap de Bonne-Espérance (Afrique du Sud) English: This 1770 Spanish manuscript map depicts the Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of the continent of Africa. The map shows the coastline, coastal features, soundings, anchorages, a settlement, and a pictorial representation of a ship. It is oriented with east at the top. A note on the map indicates that Cape Town was inhabited by the Dutch, and that the map is a copy of a 1765 original prepared by a frigate of the British East India Company, whose officers allowed a copy to be made in the port of Mauritius. The map is part of the Library of Congress’s collection from the Real Escuela de Navegación, Cadiz, Spain, purchased from Maggs Brothers, London.

Uma nota no mapa indica que a Cidade do Cabo era povoada por holandeses, e que o mapa é uma cópia de um original de 1765, preparado por uma fragata da Companhia Britânica das ìndias Orientais, cujos oficiais permitiram que uma cópia fosse feita no porto da ilha de Maurício .
