English: A photograph of pupils at Plains Road School on Plains Road in East York, Ontario. John Diefenbaker, born in 1895 and who later became Canada's Prime Minister 1957-1963, attended the school between 1900 and 1903. Before the family moved to western Canada, Diefenbaker's father was school principal and his brother Elmer was also a student at the school.
