| Description |
English: Shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves are alternate or clustered at the end of branches, ovate to elliptic and usually 5–15 cm long. Young leaves and the lower surface of mature leaves have a dense to sparse indumentum of usually rusty hairs, especially about the main veins. Flowerheads are mostly rusty-hairy; flowers few to several in terminal clusters and fragrant. Petals are tubular, 9-12 mm long and yellow. Capsules are hard, thick-walled, rough, often warty and usually hairy. Flowers in spring. Occurs from north Qld to Victoria. Grows in rainforest, wet sclerophyll forest, and in dry sclerophyll forest in the south of the range; chiefly in coastal districts, west to the Blue Mtns and Muswellbrook
district. |
