English: Flintlock boxlock over and under pocket pistol, circa 1790 double barrel; 3 inch over-and-under barrels with turn-off notches; .43 inch calibre; rotary priming; with spring bayonet; bayonet retractor is operated by moving trigger to rear, and then forward to engage tip to secure bayonet in retracted position; sliding top thumb safety through throat hole cock locking frizzen to fence; slab walnut one piece butt; oval escutcheon on wrist of pistol grip missing- top firing action screw; flint holder; securing screw from rotary priming lever markings- maker’s name on left hand side of lock- Mewis - and Co. on right hand side of lock- London two old London proof and view marks at right rear of body-barrel manufacturer Mewis and Co. London, circa 1790
