English: Wheeler flintlock double barrel travelling pistol, 1767-1813 flintlock boxlock double barrel (side by side) travelling pistol; .45 inch calibre; 4 inch turnoff cannon barrels; muzzle-loading; smoothbore; single trigger; sliding cover on pan on left; flint still held in action; rounded walnut butt with fine silver wire inlay and silver grotesque mask; ornate foliate embossing to plate, chamber and front of frizzen missing- butt plate and screw markings- on right hand side of boxlock- WHEELER under both barrels- two proof marks right hand barrel- 3 left hand barrel- 4 manufacturer Robert Wheeler, London, 1767-1813.
