English: French style flintlock trade pistol, c.1800s flintlock; 18mm calibre (.660 inches.); long smoothbore barrel; ½ and full cock; brass fittings; possibly made from military parts; with barrel band; lanyard ring at heel, slightly bent; slight split at end of half forestock, has been repaired by use of two metal pins missing- ramrod markings- Belgium (Liege) proof marks under barrel number- (crown) - “R” under barrel; under barrel, obscured by wood- W-3;15-2” number at left rear of barrel- 588 maker- Belgium gun trade, c.1800s

French style flintlock trade pistol, c.1800s This gun has a very long barrel for a pistol, and was possibly altered in later years. It shows signs of a rod lug under barrel. The lock is cleared of military marks, a common feature of trade arms made of military parts. No known history
